Creating beautiful gardens in Fife

Having a professional garden designer can really save you money in the long run by helping you avoid expensive mistakes. We can help you identify what you need in your garden depending on how you use it, and advise on plant choices suitable for the soil you have and the aspect in relation to the sun at various times of the day.
A designer also has access to a huge variety of plants and landscaping materials from budget to (dare we say it) extortionately expensive and can give you a scheme that you will enjoy for years to come.

We specialise in unique and creative designs, landscaping and planting.
Effective lighting and water features and ponds or sculpture pieces will transform your garden. Rubble stone walls using local stone, willow arches, pergolas, igloos and dens can be hand crafted to your specification.
Ecological gardens using lime and natural materials sandstone and slate and limestone and marble or travertine for paving or structures. Special projects undertaken e.g. childrens, elderly or scented depending on requirements.
Planning only, minor makeovers and complete overhauls.

Initial Site visit
On our first meeting it is important to find out as much as possible about who will be using the garden, what your likes and dislikes are, what style you prefer such as traditional, cutting edge, ecological or country garden to reflect your personality.
This visit is about getting as much information about you as possible so that I can give you the garden you want and need.

Design Ideas and sketches
It can take a few weeks to create a garden design with associated costings.
Once the designs are ready, I will arrange to come back and show you design sketches.
There might be a few different design options and materials to choose from, which can affect the budget!
Once we have reached an agreement on the design, I will draw up final plans to scale.

Costings
During our first meeting it is appropriate to discuss your proposed budget as this can affect the types of finish and materials used in the design.  For example, a sandstone paving slab is much more expensive than a concrete cast slab and more care and skill is required to lay the sandstone.

Once I have drawn a design I do a preliminary costing so that we can discuss the various options and review the materials & planting »
